I'm
trying my best to live as fully as possible, making an attempt
to stay in touch with each moment as it unfolds. In the
meantime, I've done a lot of different things. This web site
is focused on some of my public roles. I've played music with the famous, the about-to-be-famous, the locally famous, the locally infamous, and the never-will-be-famous. A musical "chameleon", I can usually fit into most genres. But always, my heart is firmly rooted in American music, and not far from blues and jazz. Composer I've composed and arranged for countless settings: Big band to solos, post-modern jazz to ethnic inspirations to pop songs. Folks often ask me to create a musical setting for their lyrics. My latest blues inspired material can be found on The Great Blues Sea. And, there are more songs on my live album, "Love Like a Stream" I teach workshops and camps in the Feri and Reclaiming traditions. In some ways, "teaching" is perhaps a poor term for the nature of the work, which focuses on each participant's personal spiritual authority and empowerment. Ritualist I work with the Reclaiming community in the San Francisco Bay area and internationally. Celebrating the cycles of the green earth and the white moon among the stars, I can help co-create an appropriate community or personal ritual. Counselor I do pastoral counseling with individuals and in workshops to delve into our lost selves and our emotional and psychic shadows. Facilitator I teach and facilitate consensus workshops and meetings internationally. Activist You may
find me standing next to you, marching, singing, drumming, or
sitting in the road at your next demonstration. Or, I might be
on the stage singing my vision for a peaceful and just world
where we carefully consider our relationship with the five
sacred things. Hopefully, we will each "take the right
action at the right time in the right place". But these are not the sum total of who am I, which cannot be told by the names of the things I choose to do.
